I purchased some bird feeders and it took a neighborhood squirrel exactly two hours to go from this:

  1. Squirrels are basically rats in my book and I'm constantly at war with them. At one point, some squirrels were living in the space between my roof and vaulted ceilings so we had someone install a one-way trap and flashing to keep them out.... I hate squirrels

That was too funny! We buy 'squirrel proofers', but I cant help, but like them!! I know, I know. I am the minority!

  6. Well, I guess you have to admire its drive. But that's why I don't bother with the bird feeders anymore. The squirrels steal all our food and they're fat enough without my help. :)

  8. What a hoot! They are so destructive. My Mom battles with the little f#%^&@* everday. They eat the tulips and chew on the lawn furniture. Thankfully our cat keeps any from our neck of the woods.

Great article on the little buggers.
The squirrels on the major street into my development put the acorns in the street and watch the cars crush them, then run into the spot and eat the prepared treat, I am trying to film them, but I agree they are way too quick and clever lol!

  11. It takes a lot of hardware and 'architectural talent' to design something that a squirrel cannot access. I have collars on my bird feeders and I have chopped down every bush and tree withing jumping distance.
