Before we moved in - it looked like the image above. Ack.
The enclosed space wasn't something we'd use, where as an open porch WAS something we'd use, so
Um....just......wow. Clearly the enclosure was a DIY job. Removal of the enclosure brought us here last summer:
I started painting the ceiling, moved to the rails, and am finishing up with the floor. I am exhausted because the prep work took FOREVER to do properly. At the beginning, when only the ceiling was painted, I decided all my efforts were going to be about as useful as polishing a turd. But now that most of the painting is finished, I gotta say - depending on how exhausted I am - either (in the voice of a stoner) "suh-weet man" OR (in the voice of a small child clasping her hands together like starfish,) "SQUEEEEEEE!" Here's where we are now:
I'll do a side-by-side comparison for the final reveal, but I thought you'd like a sneak peak. That's Pratt and Lambert exterior oil semigloss paint on the floor in London Fog (color 28-20). Pratt and Lambert accent exterior acrylic semigloss in Wolf (color 25-20) on the posts and rails. And Pratt and Lambert Laurel Mist (17-28) in eggshell on the ceiling. Thoughts?
Amazed that you guys managed to do so much work yourselves. I'm seriously exhausted just thinking about it! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the color combo! LOVE it.
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS! Fabulous colors!
ReplyDeletethe colors make it look like a treehouse!
ReplyDeleteand oh, what i wouldn't give for a covered porch . . .
My thoughts? Looks great! I love the paint color choices. That before shot makes quite a contrast, too. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteFANtastic. I mean, I really liked what appears to be a tetris game played with plywood scraps for siding too...
ReplyDeleteGreat!
ReplyDeleteOooo...very nice. I love the ceiling color.
ReplyDeleteIt looks fantastic! I love the color choices.
ReplyDeleteThe prep work is always such a b!tch but well worth it.
What a huge difference! It looks great!
ReplyDeleteOk, I lOVE those colors... mainly because the green ceiling matches the trees in the background. Can't wait to see the whole thing!!
ReplyDelete(It was worth all your hard work, trust me. Beautiful.)
Is there anything in life as satisfying as a before and after photo post? I think not. YOU GO GIRL!
ReplyDeleteLoving your color choices and (until now) I've never needed a green porch ceiling so very badly...
Wow, what an accomplishment! It looks great and I love the colors. Showing the before really makes all that hard work come to life. You and your hubby are amazing!
ReplyDeleteOh hai, lookin' gooooooood! Most importantly, what does Morgan think of the color? (Personally, I'm liking the combo a lot).
ReplyDeleteSimply divine... I've been obsessing over greens lately (bright, but not too bright, smooth, comforting but energetic) and I think you nailed it. And the London Fog with the Wolf? Strong, comforting, timeless. Love. Love. Love.
ReplyDeleteWow. Just wow. What a transformation! What wonderful work you guys are doing!
